Spam E-mail Filtering (Allow/Block mail)

Question:

You can change various settings on your mail filtering. You probably don’t want to turn off virus checking and spam checking. What you can do is allow some specific addresses so that they do not get blocked.

More information:

You can change various settings on your mail filtering. You only need to do this if you want to stop getting mail from someone or allow mail from someone
What you can do is allow some specific addresses so that they do not get blocked or block specific addresses to not receive mail from them. This only filters mail sent from outside the district.

To modify blocking/unblocking settings go to http://ms16.tcnoc.com/ and log in.
First time setup: If it is your first time put your South Redford School District e-mail address ( ffffll01@southredford.net ) into the username box and click create new password (you need to scroll down a few inches to see this link). You will then have to wait until they send you an e-mail message to authenticate your account (sometimes this is just a few minutes, sometimes an hour). If it says "unable to create account" then click on the Tangent log in the upper left corner of the page and then choose "Create User Account".

The message they send you is from something like "Barracuda Login" and the subject is something like "User Quarantine Account Information". You must log in before midnight that day and change your password or you will have to redo the process. Click on and then to change your password from the one supplied in the e-mail.

If you forgot your password you can just go though the first time setup again.

Blocked E-mail Address and Domains:While in PREFERENCES (under WHITELIST/BLACKLIST) you can put in an e-mail address (such as: governor@michigan.gov) and it blocks everything from that address. You can also block everything from a particular domain (just putting in aol.com will block everything from every user at aol.com) but this is not recommended.

Allowed E-mail Address and Domains:
While in PREFERENCES (under WHITELIST/BLACKLIST) you can put in an e-mail address (such as: updates@borders.com) and it allows everything from that address. You can also allow everything from a particular domain (just putting in resa.net will allow everything from every user at resa.net) but this is not recommended.
It’s recommended that you only allow or block individual users and not whole domains.

Why this will not work sometimes:
If you allow (or block) user@resa.net and some users use user@mail.resa.net, it may not allow (or block) both addresses, you will need to add both users.
These instructions do not cover any of the other features
and it is not recommended that you use them at this time.
