Dial in access numbers for Internet use

Question:

What phone numbers can I use to access the Internet with my TTI Laptop? (DISCONTINUED)

More information:

While most of the below dial-in information is OUT OF DATE.

I've heard of some success with http://www.DialInFree.com/ - I have no other information on this program other than it's Michigan Based and I tried it once and it worked the one time I tried it.

THESE NUMBERS ARE DISCONTINUED UNLESS YOU ARE PAYING FOR THE SERVICE. I don't think they are selling the service anymore but it may be available for legacy users.

These are numbers you can use all around the state (and Windsor, New York City, and Washington D.C.). Other than toll charges (if it’s not a local call for you) these lines are free.

  • http://www.michnet.net/mn/support/remote/local.html for additional numbers you can use when traveling around the state.
  • http://www.michnet.net/mn/resources/network/dialin.pdf - a map so you can see what area may be closest to you.
  • http://www.michnet.net/cgi-bin/db/dialaccess-new.pl - a searchable database to figure out what number should be closest to you.

This information is all maintained by MichNet and they change their links (occasionally) so if the above links don’t work you can try http://www.michnet.net/

These numbers should work for you if you buy Internet access from a variety of vendors who use the MichNet dial-in pool of numbers (many schools and universities).
