Laptop Re-imaging
Question:
If your laptop is really acting up (software, can't install hardware, viruses) the best way to fix it is to reimage it.
More information:The easy answer to almost any software problem is to reimage the computer. This is a set of 2 (or 3) CDs that likely came with the computer labeled "Dell Inspiron Restore" for the "State of Michigan" (if you don't have these CDs, read the next paragraph). You put in the first CD and turn the computer and it says it’s going to erase everything and put the computer back to the way it started. Then it asks for the other disks, 40 minutes later, it’s just like it was when you received it. This fixes 99% of all software problems. You’ll want to back up all your files since they will not be on the computer any more.
The South Redford data center can reimage your laptop for you. Drop the laptop off at the data center and clearly mark it with
Do not put this on a "post it" somehow attach it firmly to the bag (tape the heck out of it) or the laptop.
I'll let you know when it's done. Usually I can get these done in a day or two.
